Kylie was always a sensory-oriented child so we played in sand, beans, rice, paper bits, you name it! I decided it was time delve into all that [messy] fun with Shea. He has been a bit deprived of the fun which has been a lingering, though low-level, issue of mine. So this past week the sensory table came inside filled with beans. The mess was really moderate (until early this morning while daddy was "watching" them, that is!). I didn't take a picture of the bean covered floor today as that wasn't at the forefront of what I was thinking. But overall, the kids had such fun that the colored rice is sure to make a come back in the next week or two!
As I was going through the pictures for today (and there are many) I began to understand why I am SO tired! :o) There are two little reasons that run around here daily! We had a busy day for a rainy day, playing outside as it is very mild today, camping out by the sliding door to watch the rain and birds, hot cocoa, art activities, hanging out in the teepee on the porch (but alas, no picture of that). Now we wind down with bath time, dinner, story time and, finally...bed! Then I can get to work up in my own Santa's workshop upstairs! :o)
